This event was of particular interest to my family because of my grandfather. Many years ago, my grandfather owned a men's clothing store selling mainly suits and nice dress clothes. One night, the store caught on fire (I don't think they ever determined a cause). The place was pretty pwned but my grandfather has always been an optimistic person so he staged some sort of clever "fire sale" and got rid of all the leftover inventory and eventually reopened his shop. I'm not entirely sure how long the time span is in all of this but, as many independent stores do, his shop closed for financial reasons when big malls became in vogue.This morning, my brother informed me that his place of employment also caught on fire. He works at a convenience store in the Galleries d'Aylmer and last night an electrical fire started causing significant fire, smoke and water damage to the store. From my understanding they closed down the rest of the mall since the was a good deal of smoke and water and such...
My brother and I have hypothesized that there is a Cloutier Curse. 3 members of the Cloutier clan have had fires in their places of employment. This must be a sign.
oh! While treeplanting, we once had to evacuate our block because there was a forest fire about a kilometer away. Coincidence? I think not! More like the Cloutier Curse strikes again!!!!

Dammage wasnt that extensive, they had to close beacuase the fire was elictrical and there were toxins in the air. MY store will be out of commision for a while though.

Yeah, I passed by there on Friday, and it really wasn't that bad (there were people in the store photographing the damage).
Most of the stock seemed intact.
Still, you managed to get Zellers closed for the day :) Way to go Pat.
