drawing of the night.

i wanted to draw something tonight. i had something specific in mind. male, old, wrinkles. i want a picture to base it on.i looked for a bit but didnt find anything good enough. i was always tought never to use a picture unless you absolutly love it. there is nothing worse then disliking your subject matter.
so i puled something out of my head.it turned out male, like i wanted, but younger. it was no one i knew. wide cheeks narrowing into a almost none existant chin. small mouth with down turned lips. unhappy looking fellow really.really long nose. the face looks almost middle aged but somehow the hair looks like something you'd find on a school boy. floppy, messy. i dont know how that worked out myself. for some reason i drew his shoulders which somehow turned out to be bare. i think i just wanted to draw the collar bone outline.what little you can see of the chest (very little) is too narrow. not proportionate; i was never good at drawing bodies proportionate to heads. anyways, my shading is a little messy but it looks like it belongs... somewhat... not my usual shading style at all. it's usually much softer, blended more carefully. i dont think i mind the change...

the end result is i have to re-sharpen my sketching pencils... what a drag.

in another note, i'm going skiing tomorrow. i hope the weather holds out.... first day and all...

i'm sorry i didnt email you viki, i couldnt think of anything to say...
