WOAH, i can change my font and font size...
CRaZy
but enough with that....
i have two topics to discuss today, both of them relating people in general.
~~~alright folks, when i first wrote this, at the end i wasnt going to post it because i was afraid of uspetting people even though this is NOT about one or two specific people. i said people in general and im sticking by that. anyways, pat convinced me to post it since im entitled to my opinion just like anyone else. after all, what else is a blog for? i repeat, this is not an attack on any specific person~~~
to begin, i would like to talk about a growing trend ive noticed. everyone has faults, some of them they recognize in themselves and some of them dont. it used to be that when people were confronted with a fault they could do one of two things: deny it or realise they've been doing this, appoligize and try to change. one way, you are being stubborn, the other way, you a re swallowing your pride and admiting you may have been wrong. one way you come off as arrogant and self righteous but on the other hand, who wants to be wrong? so, people have adapted. in this day and age, we can expect no less... we change everything to meet our needs. anyways, people have found a way around this unpleasantness. they can admit their faults (so they dont seem bigheaded) but somehow they are still right (so they arent hurting their pride). it goes a little like something like this:
(lets take a situation where "Ani" cheated on "tom" )
*this isnt a real script, its just a rough example of an argument*
Tom: you cheated on me.
Ani: yes i did.
Tom: i hate you.
Ani: what the hell am i supposed to say? i SORRY already. its in the past. i cant do anything about it NOW, now can i?
Tom: how could you?
Ani: so what, now im supposed to be perfect? im weak okay,i know i am, i cant help it. no one is perfect. am i not aloud to make mistakes sometimes???
this is kind of an extreme case and i didnt quite explain it right but this is the gist of it. Ani is wrong in her actions but in the agrument Tom comes off as the unreasonable one. of course people make mistakes, of course she should be forgiven. you're not supposed to yell at someone who admits they have a problem, its just not what you do. im realising now how useles that example was... anyways, if someone admits they have a problem you can no longer be upset at them for it. but they dont necessarily work on it, because they just claim its part of them. you see the loophole here? its a wonderful thing really, you can save face and have the self satisfaction of knowing thats its not really your fault, and yet you are recognizing the problem so you cant really be faulted for it. and i have no doubt that people feel bad about their problems, which is why you cant attack them on them. they know they're there and it would just be like adding insult to injury. its actually quite bright and im sure i use it just like everyone else. in fact, i KNOW i have in the past. i wasnt really doing it on purpose then, but when i think back on it now, it seems pretty obvious. in the end, i dont know why we just dont all face up to our faults. some we just have to embrace, yes, but others need to change. if your faults cause others pain, thats not good. im not talking about someone disagreeing with your personality, thats a matter of opinion. if you hurt people through your words or actions then its no longer a personality trait to be admited and accepted, its something to be delt with. this goes for me too. im writing this as kind of a motivational piece for myself to break myself out of old habits.
now the second part of this was a story. but the thing is, its not really my story, its one about my mom's friend. it really isnt my business to talk about even though you guys will never know who it is.. anyways, ive decided against talking about it here... it just doesnt seem right...
well... its that time again... the time to end the blog...
end.
