well, the good news is, no hangover!
the bad news... uh... i somehow managed to sprain a leg muscle. rather baddly at that. i really dont understand it. yesterday i pretty much sat on my ass all day doing nothing and at some point in the afternoon i got up and it was hurting. it being a muscle on the inside of my thigh. this was puzzling. the last time i did anything physical was monday and my body typically doesnt wait 3 days to inform me of its injuries. anyways, i went about my business and such at home and later on at mike's. upon waking up this morning, i realise that it is all of a sudden MUCH more painful. i am now slightly limping. slightly if im trying not to limp. the less i pay attention to it, the more pronounced it is. it feels like a bruise when i touch it. it starts somewhere in the back of my knee and stretchs all the way up the inside of my thigh until it hits my hip. it hurts to the touch all the way up. the only reason i know its not a bruise it because it also hurts when i move it and it isnt disscoloured. although, my bruises usually dont change colour...
wow, i just realise just how boring that whole last paragraph was... gah...
i love the strokes. some people have songs or singers/bands that remind them of major events in their lives. i dont really. but for some reason, when i listen to the strokes, i remember getting off the bus in the market during the winter and walking to work. i did this often listenning to the strokes. not only does it remind me of that short walk but it also reminds me of a snack i often picked up in the market, the feeling of walking very quickly in the cold with music blocking out sounds of around me and most of all, just the general feeling of that period. it was a stressful time of me dealing with alot of issues i didnt want to deal with. anyways, listenning to the album now just brought back vivid memories of that time. and not just anywhere in that time, specifically getting off the bus in the market. this might be a normal thing with other people but this is the only time music has brought back vivid memories for me. i just thought id share with my adoring public... ha... yeah, im funny.
