i just watched a movie called Pumkin. it was horrible.it was in the comedy section although it seemed like they were trying at a drama. unless the funny part was in how bad it was... anyways, its about this girl with a perfect life in a sorority and as a charity, the sorority (wanting desperatly to win best sorority of the year or something preppy like that) organises a charity event which is hosting the "challenged olympics" (they actually call it that. and the participants arent athletes, they are CHALLENGED athletes). all the girls are assigned one of the participants to be their host of sorts in order to help them with their training. anyways, the girl with the perfect life, after alot of realising "oh, he's a real person with real feelings!" along with other cliches lines like that one, falls in love and ends up sleeping with Pumkin, the guy she's assigned to. of course, this is socially unacceptable in their perfect little world (oh yeah, i forgot to mention: she has a super "stud" boyfriend who is a star tennis player) so she ends up being shunned by her sorority and her everyone else treats it like some sort of mental unstability or a phase she'll get over. anyways, its cliche, baddly writen and horribly acted. you even have the rebellious teacher who touches the girl, turning her into his best student. there's this one scene, absolute gold, the girl is driving away (in her very own convertible) and the teacher stops her:
"where are you going?"
"Im leaving"
"but youre my best student"
"yeah right, i never even finished my poem" (he's a poetry teacher by the way)
she drives away
he falls to his knees in the middle of the streets, dropping his coat and suitcase by his side.
horrible.
but no, the best part, the real kicker is this:
the boyfriend runs away after beating up pumkin after saying some line like "if he's man enough to steal my girl then he's man enough to fight me" (somehow pumkin actually wins the fight... im kind of unclear on that one). anyways, the boyfriend gets in his car and drives away erratically crying his eyes out. obviously, he heads for one of those typical cliff side roads with lots of dangerous winding turns. eventually, he accidentally drives off the cliff (ooh, big surprise) and his car burst into a big ball of flames midair and explodes into a fiery inferno as it hits the ground. so im thinking, heh, thats the end of that guy (this is after i laughed for about five minutes) until you see the girl run into a hospital to see him. he's lying in bed, not a SRATCH on him but now he's apparently paralized. here's a summary of their conversation:
"you did this to me"
"im so sorry"*cries*
"look what you did!"
"im so sorry, this is all my fault" *cries*
"im just like him now!"
*she cries some more*
GAHHH! honnestly, im really not a picky person when it comes to movies, but this was just horrible. oh yeah, at the beginning of the movie, pumkin could barely walk. at the end he's running (and winning) a freakin' relay race. GAAHAHHH!!
like i said, worst movie EVER.

actually jacqui, I've seen the movie. It's painful. I caught it on tv once, on one of my many movie stations and my eyes were hurting and nothing was making sense so my brain was also hurting and I hated that tennis playing freak who cried all the time and then Pumpkin being an actual retard drove me nuts. Don't bother. It was just...Emily I FEEL YOUR PAIN.
